The Appreciation of Brian Borcherdt
Sometimes, good things come to those who wait... and wait... and wait. Such has been the case with Yarmouth, Nova Scotia musician Brian Borcherdt, recognizable to many throughout the independent music world as founder of Holy Fuck.
...but before he was touring the world in the wildly successful (and controversial) four piece, he played in various bands and solo projects in Yarmouth, Halifax, and Toronto, and ran a cooperative label that kick-started the careers of such artists as Wintersleep, Land Of Talk, Jill Barber, and others.
The Appreciation of Brian Borcherdt, was created by CBC Radio 3 Podcast producer Chris Kelly. Through interviews with many of the aforementioned artists, the feature takes us through Borcherdt's long music career, from a lobster fishing port in southern Nova Scotia to the major rock festival stages of the world.
